FYI

My book is totally complete and published on Create Space! I have a cover, and a back cover, and pages and all. I even have the spine for my book all perfect! It's about 175 pages in all in the tiny little book I ordered it in, and yes, that is kinda cheating making it small, but only technically right? I just ordered my five free copies, I can't wait to show them to you all!!!!!

For all the people that have asked me to critique heir books/ I've volunteered to critique them, I'm making progress! I just finished Hannah's and sent out the edits, I'm done with reading Liddy's and am starting editing it, and I'm working on reading Kealins.

And now for my cover! I was sitting in a huge line of cars the other day and took this picture, which fits my book perfectly! My name is going to be on the actual cover, but I would rather not put my full name online right now.

DONE!

I am DONE with Lost Perfection at 106 pages and 27,865 words. It took me about eight months to finish it, and four drafts and I'm DONE three days before my deadline to get my free copies. Could I have a round of applause please?

For everyone who offered to edit my novel for me, thank you very, very, very much but my computer has been being difficult, and I haven't had the time to figure it out. I finally think I have it all sorted out, but unless you are a super fast reader and can read and edit my book in three days, I'm just going to let you all off. I would like some people to read the DONE book though! If you offered to read the rough draft, that doesn't mean you are now under pact to read the DONE copy.

I'm sorry to all the people that have asked me to read their novels and I haven't gotten around to it, I can now get that DONE in the time between finishing my book and starting my creative writing class this summer. Oh and, I also have lines to memorize for Much Ado About Nothing ... and Sports Camp is coming up can't forget that I'm coaching again this year ...and that dress I just got for the Summer Ball needs fixing ... and I have my next novel all planned out and ready to go ... Going to Boston to visit people maybe ... yaaaaaa this is going to be really fun. But really, I will get to those books soon.

I repeat. I'm  DOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNE!!!!! Now I can go back to bad grammar and spelling!

(And yes mom, it is 11:46pm and I shouldn't be on the internet, but you can give me this one small victory right?:)

Cress book review

Cress by Marissa Myer
five stars

Goodreads Review:
In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

What I liked about it:
It was a take on my favorite fairytale ever, Rapunzel. I was able to relate to all of the characters in some way, even the robot ship! I winced through a couple of the scenes because I could feel the struggles that Cress was going through. My standards for guys was lifted even higher by the male lead who I think is my new favorite guy in a book ever, right up there with Finnick Odair. All of the characters were so human, not perfect a the time, but not evil creatures that never do anything right. I could even see the good in the villain, and it's rare that someone is able to create a villain that is both someone you dislike and understand at the same time. The book mostly focused on Cress and Thorne, but the author also had chapters in the four characters from the other books and really pulled the story together. The ending was a cliffhanger that makes you want to read more, but doesn't make you want to throw the book along with the author against the wall and scream at it. I really loved this book and I read it at least 5 times just in the few weeks I had it checked out from the library.

What I didn't like about it:
Well, a few of the supporting villains ( is that even a term, it should be!) didn't seem to be very realistic. There were a few very very very slightly off color jokes, but not many.

Am I happy I read it:
Oh ya, this is my new favorite book in my new favorite series!

Contest!!!!!

So I've been working on my book sense October, and I still can't come up with a title for it! So I'm going to have a contest! Here's how it will work.....
1. I'll hold three mini contests. You'll all give me your best title, and I'll announce the winner the next day. If you miss a contest it's ok, you can just skip that one.
2. After these three are over, I'll hold a final contest. You will all decide which one of your three names from the other contests you like best, and comment with the names. I'll then decide my favorite out of those three. I'll give you three days to do this.
3. Winner get a plate of cookies, whatever kind they want, the next time I see them! If by some chance I don't actually know the person who wins..... I'll come up with something else, I don't know what yet.
4. I might not actually use any of your suggestions, but once you put them on this blog I have first dibs on them all. I will let you know if I choose any of them though so you all can use the rest if you want. If one person gives me an idea, I get first dibs, then it goes back to them. No one else can steal the title without the authors permission.

Summery :
A group of robots have been given control over the city by the citys founders. They're getting out of control, brainwashing people by the smoke, and Sara, Mark, Kayla, and Jake have to shut the robots down to restore freedom to the City. Kayla is a rich City brat who is hurt and confused when she finds out she has been brainwashed and thinks her life means nothing. Sara is still living in the shadow of her dead brother who the robots killed, and she is bringing them down for him. Mark is obsessed with perfection and making the City a perfect place again. Jake is a city official who has always known that something is different about him.

I hope that gives you all enough info! Comment if you're entering and we'll start in a few days.

Smack me someone!!!!

I've been planning to go and sit out in our huge tent, it's for eight people and it's more like a palace in our back yard than a tent, and write for days. My story needs to be done by the first of June so I can get my two free copies from Create Space, and I'm only done with my second draft. It need some real help, and some of my awesome friends have offered to edit it for me and that's super helpful. I'll email it out to both of you soon, but right now I'm still trying to figure out my new laptop and I'll get it out to you after I figure out Open Office. but right now, I just need someone to virtually smack me threw the screen and tell me to go write! I'm actually out in the tent right now, but I'm too lazy to go and get my papers....... smack me please! Scream at me to go and write! Do something anyone!!!!!

Book Review: Scarlet

Scarlet by, Marissa Meyer

4.7 stars

Goodreads Summery-
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

What I liked-
These books just get better and better as you go along! I loved this book for most of the same reasons as Cinder. The characters are even more realistic in this book and some new characters are introduced to the plot that make the story even more exciting and really pull together the whole story. There were a couple things that she left hanging after the first book, and even though Scarlet pulls those together to make sense the author still left me hanging after this book because she introduced new questions. I have never had the characters in a book confuse me so much as this book and I loved it. The on-again-off-again-love-hate-relationship between two of the characters was wonderfully confusing, and at a couple points in the book I had to look around and make sure I hadn't woken up the rest of my family I was gasping so much. That sounds dumb, but it's true, this book really kept me on edge and I couldn't stop reading! I think I stayed up until 1am finishing this book, that's how good it was.

What I didn't like-
This book had .3 points knocked off of it because of the slight inappropriateness of some of the lines. It really didn't bother me at all, I actually didn't get most of the jokes or whatever until hours later when I was going through the book in my head for the hundredth time in a row, and I have a very high bar for these sorts of things. The jokes were Hunger Games level tops, and that's not bad at all. It was just enough for me to not make it a five.

Am I glad I read it-
Yes, very glad. This book was even better than the first on and that's really saying something.
